The Ambassador meets with German academics

The Ambassador of Tajikistan to Germany, Imomudin Sattorov, met with the eminent German Orientalist Professor Dr. Udo Steinbach (Head of the German Institute of Oriental Studies from 1976-2007) and Kurt Scharf, editor, literary translator from Persian, Portuguese and Spanish languages into German.

At the meeting, books and poems by classical and modern Tajik poets translated into German, as well as the arrangement of joint events to present the ancient history and rich culture of the Tajik people to German circles were discussed.
It is worth mentioning that a number of poems by modern Tajik poets were translated into German by Kurt Scharf together with the translator, Iranian poet Ali Abdullahi, and included in the collection of selected poems by modern Persian-speaking poets.
